Frequently Asked Questions

HOW IS FLEDGING YOUTH DIFFERENT FROM OTHER STEM PROGRAMS?

We use state of the art Advanced Aviation Training Devices that are used in the aviation industry.  We also make sure that our lessons and training events follow Education, FAA, and Science guidelines.

ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS FOR LEARNING HOW TO FLY?

We can teach any age level.  However, there are age requirements in order to be able to get your student pilot certificate.  14 years old for the student certificate, and also the minimum age to solo a glider.  16 years old is the minimum age in order to get your Private Pilot Glider certificate.

CAN KIDS ACTUALLY LEARN HOW TO FLY IN SIMULATORS?

Yes, they can.  They benefit by learning the essentials in AATD's then applying what they have learned in an actual aircraft.  Training in simulators initially allows our students to relax and connect with the aircraft.  They have much more time to explore every switch, button and bit of technology prior to entering an actual aircraft.

WILL OUR STUDENT LEARN ANYTHING OTHER THEN FLYING?

The answer is yes.  We believe in every area of aviation and aerospace.  We have a number of people working with us from various backgrounds in math, writing, engineering, software programming, simulation and more.
